Noth Korean resettler students at our school, South-North Love School, spend too many hours a day in making money, or various kinds of part-time jobs, to commit themselves to their duties, that is, study of school subjects. For example, Youngmin who is seen on the above image offers chauffeur services to drunken persons all night long. So he is sleepy while staying at school during the day. We have five students like Youngmin. They are supposed to be given 200 U.S. dollars per month as scholarship so that they may save some time to concentrate on schoolworks.
탈북청소년 장학금 모금
남북사랑학교에 재학 중인 많은 탈북청소년들은 이런저런 아르바이트를 하는 데에 너무 많은 시간을 보내느라 공부에 집중하지 못합니다. 생활비와 학비를 벌기 위해, 그리고 북한에 남은 가족들에게 송금하기 위해 돈을 법니다. 예를 들면 위의 사진에 나오는 영민이는 밤새 대리운전 아르바이트를 하고 낮에는 학교에 와서 꾸벅꾸벅 좁니다. 대리운전을 원하는 취객들을 찾아 밤새 돌아다니다 보면 매일 밤 20킬로미터를 걷는다고 합니다. 영민이처럼 지나친 아르바이트로 학업에 집중하지 못하는 학생이 다섯 명 있습니다. 이들에게 월 20만원 이상의 장학금을 지급함으로써 아르바이트를 줄이고 학업에 좀 더 집중하게 하려고 합니다.
